About Me

I was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska and developed a genuine interest in agriculture during high school. Since then I have immersed myself more and more in the ideas, philosophy and above-all the practice of growing food in a more sustainable way.

I have gained extensive experience gardening in Alaska through practice at home, tending neighbors' gardens, helping friends with garden projects (including chickens and bees), workshops like the Alaska Pioneer Fruit Growers Association grafting workshop, attending the first Alaska Permaculture Design Course in Homer, lots of reading as well as a full season's work at Arctic Organics in Palmer. Apart from my experience in Alaska, I have also volunteered on farms in Canada, lived with peasant farmers in rural Mexico, attended a beekeeping course in Germany, and have completed one year (and holding) of sustainable agriculture studies at the University of British Columbia.
