- As per the "Plant a Row for the Hungry" project, gardeners will donate a portion of the produce from each garden to Bean's Café
- Vegetable swaps between gardeners. For example, if the peas are growing great in garden A and garden B is swamped with ready-to-bolt spinach, how about a trade?
- When possible, seeds, starts and perennials will be purchased from local sources such as Foundroot Seeds, Arctic Organics and the Alaska Botanical Garden
- Workshops are offered for gardeners, friends and family on activities ranging from canning to composting
- Gardeners are encouraged to consider ways to involve friends and neighbors in their own gardening process. Are there kids next door? How about setting aside one bed as a children's garden?
- Celebrate the end of the season with a harvest party. More details to come.
Black Dog Gardens offers Anchorage residents comprehensive gardening services from planning to harvest.
